The roof cost to replace a roof, as you might imagine, varies. It varies according to your roofing materials (all the way from 3-tab asphalt shingles up to architectural shingles or even slate), the pitch (or steepness) of your roof, the area to be covered, and a host of other factors.

- A "square" is a measurement equal to 100 square feet.

If the frame supporting your roof is damaged or rotted, it may need repair or replacement. It might need reinforcement to hold up heavier roofing materials. This work could add significantly to the roof cost, depending on what's needed.
